Hikers, if you come to the Wiesental, when the weather is nice it is worth taking a trip to the old margrave town of Schopfheim to relax in the Gasthaus Sternen. You will be rewarded right from the start with one of the most beautiful garden restaurants in the area. An old plane tree spans its green over beautiful wooden tables and chairs, the floor is covered with fine gravel, which I personally love. When the sun is shining, you automatically get a holiday feeling. To the card. From my point of view, this is how a card should be, endless scrolling is not the order of the day. There is always a selection of dishes, a menu of the day, you can find what you want. Of course, I've already enjoyed all of the dishes. I would like to highlight 3 dishes in particular: the Argentine steak with crisp seasonal salad, the pork medallions with a pepper sauce with spaetzle and those who like veal liver with hash browns will discover a new benchmark here! My summary, everything is just right here, fresh, honest cuisine. The salads are crisp and fresh, the meat tender, medium, medium rare, just the way you want it. In addition, it is very beneficial in our region, instead of an everyday beer from Bavaria, here you can get Lasser beer, regional, the yeast wheat from this brewery is simply superb. For me, eating out is relaxation for me, at the end there is always an expresso and of course a dégisif, a nightcap on top, so that the circle can come full circle. My recommendation, barrel-aged grappa. <Thomas>, the boss, knows how to strike the optimal balance with his cooking skills, crisp cuisine, fresh, seasonally refined, all at fair prices. What is an economy without a top waiter, one who delegates the restaurant orchestra with his helpers for the well-being of the guests? In the star this is <Johann>, for me one of the best in his guild, always friendly, always fully committed. When you are satisfied with the stars, do not forget to mark your satisfaction with a good tip for the team. Appendix: When the weather is nice, you should reserve a table! Parking spaces can be found in front of the restaurant and nearby. Of course you can also eat inside in the star, but the highlight is under the old plane tree!

Almost everything was good! The food was really very good. We both had the rump steak with hash browns, very tasty and you got full. The service is very fast and also asks several times to make sure everything is good. The beer garden is despite the near road very nice. When pay then the point came a a well unfortunately only makes the very one satisfying. Although the waiter takes all orders with a tablet and sends them to the kitchen, when we paid we were told that we didn't accept cards, only cash. So one had to pick one of us to the bank to the same. Apart from Corona where it always means avoid cash, we are in 2020. If they had told us no credit card only EC, could we still got it. But only cash .... is no longer appropriate these days and, in addition to the better rating, this probably also prevents us from coming back.

The atmosphere is great as well as the waiters. Some guests we're friendly others reserved. The food is deliciously great. I would recommend anyone to go and eat or drink at the Gasthaus Sternen.
